Widdle Wheezers Asthma Consultants offers online and home visit options for children and young adults struggling with asthma issues. Consultation includes an evaluation by an experienced Nurse Practitioner that has specialized in the chronic disease for 30 years. There are no insurances accepted by this practice to offer the family a more economical option and easier access to care. Times have changed in the healthcare industry, and this practice would like to offer an option that may help your family achieve a better way to manage asthma.

Services We Offer
Pediatric Pulmonary Services
Laryngoscopy
Infants that have noisy breathing and/or chronic cough may have an upper airway issue causing the problem. Direct visualization can help identify the problem and help in the management of the issue. Dr. Panesar does perform this procedure in the office if needed.
Bronchoscopy
Dr. Panesar does perform bronchoscopy in the hospital endoscopy unit to evaluate the airway completely, get cultures, and identify abnormal anatomy that could be contributing to the patients respiratory problems.
Pediatric Asthma Services
Spirometry
Spirometry is completed for all patients able to perform this test. The test measures the amount of air being inhaled and then exhaled as fast as possible. When the amount of air is less than predicted and /or improves with a bronchodilator (albuterol), a diagnosis of asthma is considered.
Exercise Challenge Testing
Patients that have difficulty with exertion and experience shortness of breath, noisy breathing, coughing, wheezing, and/or chest pain can have an exercise study to evaluate the possible causes: Upper airway vs. lower airway issues.
Asthma, Pulmonary & Allergy Education
Asthma Education
Dr. Panesar and Traci are both certified asthma educators (AE-C) and are currently the only practice in AZ that both providers have taken and passed the Certified Asthma Educator exam. The exam, now offered by the NBRC, is written and edited by a multidisciplinary team from across the country. Both providers have served on the exam committee and were members of the board when under the NAECB.
Skin Testing
Allergy can be diagnosed by skin testing, which shows a reaction to certain allergens in the form of a hive. This allows the family to accomplish environmental modifications and use medications when the modifications are not able to control symptoms. Allergy is a contributing factor to some people with asthma and must be controlled to control asthma.
